Here are a couple more pics from my Dimage A2. I finally figured out how to take pictures without the flash. I had problems due to the 20000k lighting. I guess I could say I'm as happy as a clam :D
Any comments would be appreciated.

Well I just adjusted the whitebalance to the 20000k lighting. It took me forever to do it. I was so frustrated with the camera because all my pictures kept coming out blue. The camera has the option for adjusting the whitebalance to a custom setting. I put a grey card in front of the camera that is illuminated under the metal halide. I snaped a picture and now the camera knows what true gray looks like under 20000k. It's amazing! I love it. By the way, those pictures were not digital edited by any software.

My camera is a Minolta Dimage A2. It is a pretty nice Digital SLR. It is 8mp's and has a lot of nice features. If I could buy another camera I definately would go with the Canon EOS20D. It is sooooo sweet and you do not have to adjust the white balance under 20000k lighting. A friend of mine who owns Rio, Helios, Via Aqua, Taam, etc. has basically every digital camera available and I tried his cheapest SLR (EOS20D) and it's the bomb! What kind of a camera does your friend have?

I think that the mandarin does not look very well fed. How long did you have it? How large is the tank? How mature? Refugium?

Regarding the fact that you do not have to do the white balance with a better cammera... I doubt. I don't think that it is theoretically possible.
It is possible to approximate it maybe, but not replace it.
I'm not an expert, but still I don't think it's possible.

Actually the 20d does need to be white-balance adjusted. The camera just has the ability to adjust to a specific Kelvin temp, as well as to specific types of lighting.

Very nice pics.

Agreed. Look how thin the body is behind the pectoral fins. Is it eating any prepared foods at all?

Off topic - I know.

Great pics. :D

He's not my fish. I do know that fishtank is feed daily like 3 times. Live brine shrimp, cyclopseeze, coral food, flake food, and other things as well. I think he passed away though. He definately was skinny.
