First off, as the introduction I'd like to post couple photos about my tank progress since 6-month mark up until now 14 month old.

September 04 - I really like the clean look of new tank without any coraline algae and the color of corals under 4x65W PC hood.

Octorber 04 - Green algae is growing as you notice it on the substrate. Re-arrange some corals and do a little of rockwork. Gornipora is growing (open nicely) after 2-3 months first instroduced. I removed the Fluval 404 canister filter as its maintainace is tedious. Livestock is light with yellow, 2 chromises, maroon, firegoby and spotted dragonet.

During this time, I have some chance to take close-up pics of the tank mates. Here they are:

December 04 - I added 25+ lbs Fiji liverock to the tank and introduce regal tank (this is second one ofter 1st one died on me). Still like the clean look without coraline algae except couple of spottings at the back. And gonipora extends like there's no limit. I guess it likes the current where it's located.

March 05 - Moving on to more recent photos. I did some frags with the zoos as you can see a small white cylinder rock at the front. Xenia grows like a forrest since September. Also, the sea rod grows into like 14+ branches. Added midas blenny and 2 more chromises after firegoby died. I think he died because he didn't get much share of the food due to agressiveness of his tank mates. Coraline algae grows but I don't really like the look of it. It looks wash-out probably because of high intensity of MH lighting that I changed recently.

April - May 05 - Xenia's overtaking the tank space and I really want to remove it but don't know how unless I have to remove the rock it's on as well. Trying out some hard corals and defintely don't like the look of coraline algae. Maroon is hosting in Gonipora making it stressful. I am installing Ca reactor to see if coraline algae is changing its color to purpleish, pinkish....

Hi Wade,

I visited your reef website and see an index of folders in which there are a lot of photos. May I suggest http://www.quirm.net/showcategory.php?categoryid=12? It's an enhanced version of free Simple PHP Gallery which I find very robust, clean and simple. Since you have your folder sorted, it will be a swift installation.

Cheers,
coolwater

PS. I am not in any way associated with the author or trying to promote a product. This is just plain suggestion in your case. Ignore about the post if it's already suggested before.

No worries, I've thought about it, but then I'm lazy and I figure anyone interested in looking can just scan through directories. :)

I actually have a copy of gallery2 up and running, I just tend not to use it. I'll give that prog a look and see... thanks for the suggestion.

How long have you had that tank up?

Welcome Coolwater,

Very nice tank and photos. I'm curious what camera and equipment ou used for these shots? Keep an eye open for the monthly photo contest in this forum section.

Capture some more light for us all and share the results.

Ditto on the very nice setup and presentation here.

I also use Gallery Remote, I assume it is the same PHP program; works nice.

2 kinds of camera that I used taking these photos: Canon PowerShot S330 for quick snap shot and NIKON D70 for close-up.

Tease...

There had to have been a lens on the D70..right?

Did you use a standard 50mm (and crop) or do you have a macro..and if so..which one?

......also..remember any settings (ISO, shutter speed/aperture etc).??

Do you shoot in Jpeg..or RAW and convert? Was there any/much post processing of the images/files?

Just being nozzzzzzzzzY.

Thanks
