Some how, my photo editing software jumped right out of the computer. So now I'm looking for something new. It must be very user friendly. What I had was pip.exe and it was great for a simpleton such as myself. I've played around with Ulead Photo Impact, Adobe Photo Deluxe and currently playing with Photo Pos Pro. All have good points, but aren't that user friendly. After cropping, resizing is a pain.

Anyone got a good suggestion?

I still recommend Photoshop. I know it's not the most friendly as it has very advanced tools, but it isn't difficult to do simple functions like resizing (image size and saved file size/quality), croppping, sharpening, and color adjustments. Once you find where each command is, it really becomes second nature.

For the quality, you really can't do better the Photoshop. And IMO, it really isn't harder to learn the simple functions in photoshop compared to any other program.

I use Photoshop CS2. It's an amazing program.......but it's far from user friendly. Possibly Adobe Photo Elements? (not much more user friendly)

Did you receive any software for editing with your digital camera? Usually they come with a pretty simple and user friendly disk. If you didn't get any software.....perhaps a friend would give you their copy. Most people don't seem to ever use these. Sometimes they are pretty decent.

Might google for some other options. I had an old program that came with my first digital. It was IIRC called "PhotoWise". It was by Agfa. I never even looked at the directions. It just made sense...and I was up and running on it..instantly. It's been years since that..and I'm not sure there is anything like it on the market today?

I use Photo Shop as well. It has a bit of a learning curve, but not that bad.

Well, I don't have the big bucks for photo shop, but I can spare what they're asking for the photo pos pro. I'm getting the hang of it, so that's good. I still wish some of the features were easier to use. I know that eventually I'll figure it out, but I'm like an old dog, I hate learning new tricks. :P

I just read today that google has a free photo application, you can use it for cropping resizing and sending photos.

That might be the way to go, in fact I am going to check it out because when I want to post a pic here I have to open adobe photoshop, wait for it to load everthing, open the file and then crop and then resize and then save it, takes about 4 minutes just to get the first picture done.

I will look it up right now.

I use Elements and I wish that I had gotten Photoshop. I mean I only spent like $20 for the program but there are a few things that are hard or maybe I just dont know how to do.

The only thing I use it for is color and lighting adjustments.

If you have the money, buy Photoshop. It's really good. Don't look at the learning curve - it's the only photo editing software you'll need. Ever. All the pain is worth it. It does the best red eye removal I ever saw and many other advanced options.

Now, if you want a freeware... that's a different story. I like gimp (sort of a photoshop clone) but to the best of my knowledge it doesn't run on Windows.

I started out on Photoshop 6.0 and it was complicated as hell but worth the headache. I switched to Elements and between a couple of years and those two programs and you can fix a bunch of things. Fact is there is no "simple" way to edit. If there is I'd have to say Elements is the best. It has an auto adjust feature that does really well with the click of a button. Also Adobe is selling Premiere and Photoshop Elements in one package for $100. I know they will probably be older versions in a matter of months but so what? Premiere is for editing DVI and other DVD footage. If you have a camera for DVC or Hi-8 it's awsome too. Trust me when i say that you'll get the hang of it, frustration is one hell of a motivator.

Corel is offering a great special right now. I purchased Paint Shop Pro X, Paint Shop Extras, and Photo Album 6 for less than a 100$.www.corel.com. The tripos that they are giving away is garbage though. The software rocks......
