Nice shots. That is a real (not so much anymore) "sleeper" lens. Under $100 and tac sharp. Excellent lens image quality on that puppy. I've read many good things about it. I opted for Canon's 50mm f/2.8 macro and the 20D. The 1.6x crop factor of the 20D worked out well for the 50mm macro IMO (80mm =). The high ISO speeds and low noise of that Canon are wonderful for low light tank shots.

Do you have a macro for that body? I would have liked the 100mm macro..but don't shoot all that much close up work...and that price tag was a bit much. I'm instead saving up for a 300mm or 400mm f/2.8 to shoot other wildlife. 8O That thing is ALMOST as expensive as an aquarium.

Cheers

I still don't know, so I'm sticking to my "mimic tang" answer :) The two species of Mimic tangs are highly variable in morphology.

Anyone ever tried the reverse lense trick for real hot'n'heavy macro work?

ie- sticking a 25 or 50mm lens backwards before a standard kit lens or another macro lens?

I've been reading more about it, and if that lens is under $100, I bet it would be ideal! Of course, a 60+inverted 50 would only give you about 1.001:1, but thats still not bad.

Anyone?

btw- NICE SHOTS! :)
