Anyone recommend a good lesson/book for SLR?

I have the Nikon D50. Besides taking tank pics and I got the white balance down I am looking to take better overall pics.

We went on vacation this week and the pics loked great on the "Camera Viewer" but when I got home allot of them were blurry or the colors were out of whack.

I think a new lens might help but not sure.

Any ideas?

Find a photography forum and dive in. I help out on www.thephotoforum.com and it's pretty good for beginner/intermediate shooters.

www.bythom.com . He has great Nikon-specific books for various parts (mainly flash usage) and bodies, but it does get rather advanced. Or you can always use online resources like dpreview and luminouslandscape for more fundamental understandings of photography
