Just bought my son a waterproof camera by Panasonic. Thought I'd give it a try inside my tank to take a shot of a new clam. Fun not having to focus through the glass. Just stick the camera in the tank and shoot.

It's the Lumix DMC-TS1 by panasonic.
Here's a link:

Also does very respectable HD video but is only waterproof down to 10 feet. I bought this for my son last month before we went to Jamaica on vacation. This camera saved me since it rained heavily several days. We used this while climbing up Dunn's River falls with some decent photos and good video in a torrential downpour.

I just stuck it in my tank on a lark. Decent photos without worrying about glare on the tank.

I just used that camera in my tank too - loads of fun. I posted some sample photos in my build thread in the GRD.

Very nice clam btw - looks great.

Thanks for posting the pics. For a point and shoot that camera really does an excellent job it seems. Nice that it also does some HD video, and being waterproof is really a great feature. I would think you would probably want to dunk it in some fresh water after having it in saltwater though, if you haven't already done that.

Yes, the manual makes a point about rinsing in fresh water after saltwater exposure. The HD video is really a nice feature.

Ha, ya... I bought my girlfriend a camera for Christmas. It's a waterproof one too. She has absolutely no need for her camera to be waterproof. I think she saw right through my getting myself a present.
Nice work on the photos!!
)
