My hanna calc checker is showing my calc at 600 , I used it on fresh made water at 1026 and it reads 600. The salt I am using is tropic marin bio active. If i make water with a low sality(1020) should the calc read lower?
It is your ro/di water. It has to be pure h20. Any little trace of calcium will make results read high. I over came that problem by getting my water DIRECTLY from the last stage coming out of my DI Resin.
When I collected the water from my rodi reservoir I always got that error.
Took off the tower of crush coral , took water sample right out of the di and i still got reading of 600 . I also did an alk test and got a reading of 7.59dhk.
driving me nuts.
There was alot of bad reviews on the hanna calc checker, i read they were working on a second one dont know if it is out or its what you have but i would get another kit.
Hanna tech wrote back to me. This meter is using a 100 to 1 dilution so you must be very precise in adding everything just one extra or less drops will have an impact on the results.
what kit do you guys use?
