2 skimmers?

Has anyone used 2 skimmers at once? I just picked up a remora skimmer to replace my bak pak skimmer. But, since I'm overstocked I'm thinking about running both. Any issues besides added heat?

why not just get one oversized skimmer to take care of all the work? i don't see any reason why two cannot work, but i think it is more a waste of electrictiy when you could get one to run on less

Two skimmer may work, and it may not. I had three skimmers on my system for a while and decided that is not the most effeciant way of running things.

I have the two skimmers you mentioned, you are better off just getting something bigger if you think one is too small.

The problem is I can't fit a big skimmer under my stand. I have a standard 55g AGA stand. The electric bill will be around the same. Two small pumps instead of one large pump. I plan on keeping the bak pak in the sump and HOB the remora. I'm going to give it a try once I receive new o-rings for the remora.

also double the work of cleaning both.. and emptying there cups and fine tuning them every day or 2..... i would just get a CSS (coralife super skimmer) rated for ur tank and i think ull be ok.. its HOB and it def. works..... this is only my opinion....:biggrin:
