Hey everyone, just thought I'd say hi. I'm new to the board and new to the hobby, started my tank a little over a month ago. So far I've only had one setback so i feel like I'm doing pretty well. (If you're wondering, I went away over the 4th and without AC on in my apt, my tank overheated killing a shrimp and damaging some corals) So far I've got 2 False Ocellaris Clowns, lots of live rock a couple of hermits a bunch of snails and a few corals (still trying to nurse them back to health)

The summer is not friendly to reef tanks without a chiller or room ac on 24/7.
There are some threads here discussing ways to cool your tank down.
Like Deepwater said a fan is the minimum to help the tank.

I've got my ceiling fan on 24/7 now and am considering buying a chiller and hopefully it'll work out. The corals are just now starting to reopen so I think they'll survive.

No tank at the moment..but it is getting set up within the next week or two. Inhaling spar urethane sucks!!! When the tanks up feel free to come by .

Yea theres a bunch of us in the area. Fritz is also in Park Slope and theres a ton of people a couple train stops away. Maybe I'll stop by and check out your tank.
