I saw a few threads about bryopsis in tanks not being eaten by anything. I know critters eat different things in different tanks, but my new scarlet leg hermits are mowing down the bryopsis.

Just an FYI for all the newbs with algae in their tanks!

Postive it's bryopsis and not just plain old hair algae? It would be great if hermits started to crave bryopsis.

Bryopsis has little fronds along the sides right? And it is bright to medium green? About 3/4" tall and grows in little bunches?

My camera skills are not good enough to get a good pic. Maybe B. will do it when he gets up :)

Uh Oh, better plant them in the B patch while they are still eating it. Hopefully they get most of it before they get sick of it!

From my experience, the hermits will stop eating the algae only because they prefer eating fish food. But with the lack of fish food, they'll start eating the algae again. I used to overfeed my tank and the hermits wouldn't touch the stuff. Eventually I fed only meager meals and the hermits were chowing the algae down!
