Ok, I have a problem... I got a new AC after my old one died and the new one is a bit more powerful. Well the AC and my MH light don't like to be on at the same time (I blow a circuit when they are). What is the best way to deal with this... should I alternate them? (if so how long between cycles) Should I try to cool the apt for a bit and just decrease my lighting period by a couple hours?
HELP!
Thanks in Advance.

One? That's crazy. I have two. Get rid of your fridge!

Brooklyn Living BABY! All the outlets in my apartment are on one breaker, unless I drill through to my neighbor's apt it doesn't matter what outlet I plug into.

are you serious? 1 outlet? Are sure you don't have 2? Either use 2 different outlets or like Cali_reef mentioned run the lights at night. What is your computer connected to?...same outlet

It's not one outlet, just one circuit... I'm 100% sure, had an electrician here at one point to do some work for me. It's really a no win situation.

That is still agaonst code I believe.

FWIW, Code is specific to the time frame when the work was done. I just removed 85 year old wiring out of my house last year. When the wiring was put in, there was no code to follow. Although it was not up to current code.. it was legal. Changes in code are not usually retroactive to existing work. The new work, needed to be compliant with current code.

I beleive the first building code in the city was enacted in the early sixties.

meschaefer is right on the code thing.

It is my job....

What is nice about the new code, (at least in the city) is that every bedroom is required to have a seperate circuit for an airconditioner. I don't use an air conditioner in the room with my tank, so use that circuit for my tank.
