Could you describe you set up? Does it have a sump? How much room do you have?

What skimmer are you considering buying?

I am in the very early stages of planning my reef...the skimmer I am considering is the bk...space is not an issue as the tank will be a ''room divider type'' there is a half wall between the entry foyer and living room in my house that is aprox. 10ft long. I plan to notch this wall and fit an 8ft tank, leaving enough space below and on end to fit the skimmer either below tank in sump or at the far end against wall outside of sump.
TIA

I've had both internal and external. Internal is a PITA to clean cause you have to take it apart and work it out of the sump. External is way easier to clean as long as you have a union ball valve to disconnect it from the sump. I have a MRC 2 and so far so good. A bit difficult to dial in at first but I think I've got it figured out.

Give some more information on what you plan on doing, so some guys can give you feedback and advice. if your talking about an 8 foot tank and a bk skimmer thats $$$, are you installing the tank yourself???
