Yeah stop using that stability stuff, Cycle or Prime, let it do it naturally.

No Die off occurs when it is exposed to air. Usally in transport.

I agree with nano and chief about letting it run its course naturally.
Also, an anemone should not be added to a new tank until the tank matures for almost a year, and, has the proper lighting.

Finally I make a woman happy :teeth::joke:

Anyhow some corals you could start with to just get a feel for how things work are Zoanthids commonly called zoas, Green Star polyps (GSP), colt coral, toadstool leather, finger leathers, devils hand leather, cabbage leather, xenia, kenya trees, capnella, and any other leathers possible.

After you get a feel for those you could try your hand at some frogspawn and hammer coral.

My tanks a 40g breeder with a 20g sump. This tanks been up maybe 1.5-2 months now, I'll check back later. THe 20g was my orginal tank but I changed that out. If you look thru the tank threads you'll see my 65g that I took down a while ago.

Right now I have 5:shhh: fish. A two spot hogfish, a lubbocks fairy wrasse, a neon goby, a tiny bicolor blenny, and a pinkbar goby. All of these fish are really small; but they do add a lot to the bioload in the tank. Get your skimmer first, then start stocking the tank when the time is right. Look into getting a remora, if your budget allows it.

This guy is a borderline pro - and has access to some of the best reefkeepers in the US. GO NANO - great advice on this thread and glad to see you are taking it slowwwwww - the ladies like that :)

Keep up the awesome work.

Kris tell her about you tanks before the 40. Kris has been involved in the hobby for quite some time and has broken down more tanks than I have set up!

Thanks Jim!! :D It's true I do have access to a lot of the best in the US on this board. I'm trying to take it slow but it's kinda hard to break old habits.

:lol2: B! Yea I've had my upgrades and downgrades go kinda crazy. When the tanks are up and running I have a tendency to get bored with the tank. Had a great 65g running with just about everything I wanted on it, took it down cause I just wasn't having fun with it anymore. Sticking around on the board these guys pulled me back in, thankfully!

Just take it slow, trust me you dont want to be a upgrade/downgrade loser like me. I started here with a 15g(I really was a nanoreefer), then moved to a 55g, then back to a 30g, then to a 65g that wasn't reef ready, then to a reef ready 65g, then to a 20g, and now I'm at my present tank the 40g.

Before the 15g I had a whole lot of tanks that failed just cause I didn't have Manhattan reefs to rely on. I was going on what the LFS's told me, wasn't the best advice; at one point they were encouraging me to get diatoms growing in my tank. Lost more money there than I would have liked too.

Just take your time setting up. The fish store kind of started you off on the wrong foot with the damsels and clean up crew so early. Easily fixed though and try to get your hands on a skimmer :).
