I don't want to drill my tank. Yeah, yeah, I know.

So, being as boneheaded as I am, can anyone tell me what's a good prefilter/overflow box for a 30 gallon aquarium and a 10 gallon sump? I'm looking for something with a slim profile, as I would like my tank to fit as close to the wall as possible, and something quiet. Most of my reading has said something about a gurgling/flushing noise that wouldn't necessarily sound great in the living room.

The only on I saw that mentioned quieting the noise is the Marineland SOS prefilter. Is it any good?

And is the general price range between 70 to 90 dollars? It seems a little steep for two plastic boxes with holes cut in them and a tube.

I might have a used U tube overflow for sale if your interested. I currently use 2 of them on my 135g tank and they work well. The one I have I was going to use on my new 30g but I decided to drill the tank this time around.

You can create a silencer that will fit in the drain section of the overflow box which will quiet it down.

Also, if you use the box it will make the tank stick off the wall at least 4".
