hairy shroom split

i thought mushrooms reproduce by grow a baby shroom at the foot where attached to the rock, but my hariy shroom just splits into 2, is this normal?

It's normal for the mushroom species you have.

they will split or if they move and leave a small piece of tissue, that will also become a new shroom.

I crosscut it now I have four.

I would guess this would be normal too. I also have a hairy mushroom and it did split when I placed it on higher levels. But be careful and keep it away from pineapples and flowerpots. Things sensitive may start to die once this hairy mushroom touches on the surface. I lost a brain and am in the process of loosing my flower pots. Good luck!!!
