as u all know scarf is selling a remora pro for a sump/fuge. now i still have not setup a sump/fuge yet but i will within the next month.i have a 29 gallon. My question to u guys is should i stick with the css65 i have or go with the pro even if i have to wait for a sump/fuge setup alittle while. What do u guys think of a remoras performance? and even if i plan on using it for future setups does anyone know their life expectancy? I just want to make a good purchase and not hold up scarf selling it as i have it on hold. thanks guys

I have an in sump Urchin pro on my 75 gallon and I have no complaints. Bulit to last, it's acrylic so you really have to bash it with a hammer or something to break it. Mine has a MAG3 on it and I the pump (in my opinon) is great as long as you clean and it. The Remora is the cousin of the Urchin and bacially (correct me if I'm wrong) just hangs off of the back of the tank. A good buy, and Scar-Johnathan is a good guy to deal with, ask him how it worked for him on his tank.

I have a remora and I love it, it's a great skimmer, You won't be disappointed.

I believe what you got from Scarf is an Urchin pro skimmer, which can only be used in-sump. Remora is a different story.

sorry reefergonemad. it's an urchin pro not a remora. i have both that's why i got confused.

ok ok. i know but my coralife superskimmer 65 does pretty good. so thats y i asked i know they are for different types of setups.one being a H.O.T. and the other being a sump type. but oh well the urchin looks like the best plus its a pro so it can handle a big load. and for my small tank it will reduce nutrients in the water drastically. anyway i need a sump thanks guys and romain. scare hold the skimmer
