Mystery fungus

ok guys this is bugging me. it took out a colony of dragon eyes on me so i want to find out this culprit. Anyone know? any suggestions are highly appreciated.

i know its not though. oon the left side there is a sponge but those two holes are polyps that bailed while i was talking to dvs.

From the picture it looks like the zoo's are dying and the white fungus is them decomposing. If you take out the rock and smell it the smell should be like some thing is rotting. If that the case you want to scrap it all off and rinse the rock clean of it.

i tried even dipped them. made the fall apart faster. when they melt they usually just turn brown and fall off. i have never seen this thouggh. has anyone elses disintergrated like this. it looks like a fungus but i could be wrong. prat, solby Where u at?

It's very common when zoo's start to go they get a white fungus like develop over them. If you take out the rock it should smell really bad. If that's is the case you want to take out the rock and scrape off the white and any zoo's, that it maybe on. Otherwise it will spread to the other zoo's and kill the whole colony.

Dipping them isn't going to do anything is they're starting to die, which is probably the case here.

cool thanks marrone they did die though i tried but i just wanted to make sure that this was a fungus, does anyone know the species

I'm not sure what type of fungus or bacteria it is, it could also be the zoo's themselves giving off some thing as they die. It can spread around the tank to your other zoo's, specially by hermit crabs, so it's best to remove it once you see it in the tank.
