13 days ago I dosed my 75gal tank with Maracyn on Monday and repeated next day Tuesday.

Since then, I havent been able to run my Euroreef Skimmer RS80 cuz it runs incredibly wet. Takes literally 60 seconds for the cup to get third full which is as full as i can let it get.

Have done 4 water changes at 13% and did a 20% yesterday. Just havent been able to notice a difference.

So this morning I took return pipe off to lower the water level to its lowest possible level. Not running so wet, but now i've got micro bubbles in tank cuz return pipe is out.

Is running skimmer this way a problem?

Is there anything else i can do short of massive water change?

Let the skimmer do it's work and run some carbon to offset the maricyn - skimmers do what they do best - skim

I had a similar problem about 5 years ago. If your skimmer is internal I would just leave it on and let it take are of it on its own. It will eventually return to normal.
