Hey guys, I've done a search and not found much solid information on hydroids. Up until recently, they haven't been a huge problem, but now they're starting to sting some of my zoanthids and I'd love any ideas on how to get rid of them, or at least reduce their numbers. Thanks in advance for any help.

BTW I can't easily remove the rock, but can scrape it if manual removal is the best option. I'm just worried that scraping them in te tank may allow them to reproduce and make the problem worse.

I have a very small tank so these are easy to pick out. I had a couple very small colonies of these critters. In one case I removed the rock and cooked them with a microtorch. In another case where I didnt want to remove the rock I squirted boiling hot water from a syringe on them. In both cases they have not returned. Time will tell :)
