ooooooh that's a loaded question.

Like: "How much food should I give my dog"

It depends on what you're feeding and how much of them you have. I have an SPS tank and many a planktivore that love it. I feed a spitball sized piece with half as much spray dried phyto plankton every other day alternating a day then night feeding. Some animals feed during the day and some feed at night. Cyclopeeze only remains suspended for 10 minutes or so, at least in my tank.

When my reef was younger I used to just target feed cyclopeeze to certain animals with one of those things you use to get "boogies" out of a babies nose.

got it.
so there is no "directions" on feeding. just a little and then take it by ear.
thanks fritz.

by the way the boogie thing is an aspirator, i've used it quite a bit the past 2 weeks on my kids.

A little goes a long way, my local fish guy says use a pinky nail size chunk for a 20 to 30 gallon tank, that stuff can pollute a tank fast! Oh, and I feed it no more then 3 times a week, but I alternate with PE mysis, my fish eat it like crazy! The Hikari they don't touch, the PE mysis causes a food fight!

make sure you wash the aspirator after your done feeding the fish. Imagine the feeling of salt up your kids nose :kidding: Bacteria is bad... don't use the same one for your kids.

I feed my 24g nano about every two to 3 days with cyclo just to give the fish and coral a variety with mysis mixed in between the days not feeding cyclo, about a pea size worth. I also use a syringe i got with joes juice i never used to feed my sun polyps and to lay some mysis/cyclo mix in a low current area for my scooter blenny every two days. You can buy in a rite aid or genovese plastic syringes also, my mom got one to feed her dogs maple syrup when they were sick.

I target feed my LPS with CE twice per week. As mentioned there is no set rule to feeding, but make sure your system is capable of removing the wastes.

Yeah, your system will not suffer if you turn the pumps down for 15min to 1/2 hr. That will give it enough time to settle and for your critters to eat some. I turn my nano's pump off for 30 min while I feed my mandarin

man, thanks guys! i've had a stick of the frozen cyclopeeze in my freezer for three weeks, with no idea how much to feed. I have some hair algae on my closed loop, and a little cyano in the fuge section of my sump, so i thought i might be overfeeding my other stuff (Form. I and II, frozen mysis, frozen plankton) I pick little bits from this variety, but was putting an entire cube of the frozen mysis/plankton in the tank. I heard the CE was really concentrated, so I've been holding off.
