i just bought a yellow tang and an orange dimond goby and i was not sure on how to feed then. I have the food and eveything but when i feed them the flakes the goby does not come out to eat and the tang eats it then spits it out
What type of flakes are you feeding them? For tangs you should feed them Nori sheets and get some Formular II(Frozen, Flake or Pellet) also feed them Spirulina flakes. Also try Spectrum pellets as fish seem to like them a lot. The Goby will eat some of these and also pick at algae on the rocks.
first off, you should research what the requirements are for each fish you purchase before you actually purchase. Not trying to be rude, but it helps you understand your fish better before you bring it home to your system
What marrone suggests is correct, Go to your local asian market and pick up some nori and put it on a feeding clip. Also try frozen mysis and bloodworms, and formula II. I try to stay away from flake foods as the primary source of food
you are right i sould look more into how i should care for the fish before i but the fish thanks for the informantion drunktank and marrome. The man at the pet store gave me some omega one natural protein formula veggie flakes. Do you think they are good for feeding a yellow tang and an orange diamond goby
i'd say invest in some frozen food too. The more varied the diet, the better they should do. Get some Nori (which is seaweed) Your tang will go nuts for it. The problem w/ flakes is that they dont always sink, and then its kinda a waste.
