I am still researching on MH upgrades and I came across these kits from Hellolights. 150W HQI retrokits, http://www.hellolights.com/15hlmhrekith.html.

I currently have a 29 G and would like advice from you experts on...........

1) should I get the 250w version instead of the 150w

2) what temp bulb listed below should I get. I currently have a 65W PC actinic retrokit that I can add to any MH setup.

Thanks in advance

Go with the 250w. that way no need to upgrade in the future and you can keep anything you want. What 100w over an 8 hour span each day adds to the ebill is minimal.

rfc,

I have those same lights from HelloL. (150w).
They're great so far, however since you have a 29g you might want to consider the heat issues you'll have.

lol I have a 150W MH on my 12G. Open top lots of water movement, and my tanks stays at 78 to 80 all the time. So I would say... keep your water temp in check and get the 250W.
Color temp, depends on what you want to keep. 10,000K yellowish tint, 14,000 middle of the road, 20,000 bluish tint
