Prime is just like stress coat and cycle it's a de-chlorinator that you have to add to the water and circulate to get rid of the chlorine that is added to your tap water. It also suposedly has bacteria in it that will help jumpstart your cycle if needed. I would steer clear of it and either go RO/DI or Distilled h2o.

.89 a gallon??? Makes no sense. Buy an RO/DI filter. You can get them for $100. If you can't afford an RO/DI system, then you can't afford livestock.

I used the aquarium pharacuticles tap water purifier for a number of years with good success. It makes DI water, and with the quality of city water it is more than enought to get the job done. That being said, I eventually got a RO/DI unit as it was cost efficient over the long run.
