I found a mantis :sgrin: hiding in a hole in an upright piece of LR and its kinda my centerpiece, so taking it out is not an option. Ive been trying every night to lure him out using mysis and even hermits and :snail: as bait but he wont go into the net the SOB even hits the front plastic part of it almost mocking me. And he does the same with a water bottle. My tank is small only 29g and the mantis is very small 1/2 inch at most and green in color in case anyone was wondering. But he's already killing hermits and my mexican turbos are too big for him to kill. (thats the louder sound I keep hearing he'll get one eventually) If he gets bigger he will prob move to a harder place to capture him as if this wasnt hard enough. Any other ideas, Im losing my mind sitting in front of my tank with a flashlight for hours. Or anyone with a trap from brooklyn or SI that I can borrow. I want this guy out. No pics cause he's to fast and small. Sorry.

plugging the hole can be done, but Ill try that last. The rock is pourus and he may make another way out, then it will take two months to find him again. Im going to order the mantis trap from ultralife that would fit nicely.

sorry to hear- you will soon join me in an anti-mantis death squad. I have been trying for over a year to get mine out- he killed all my fish and all snails, hermits, etc.

I hate him.

Plugging the hole will only work if there is no way out- and they can make holes pretty quickly. Mine has a huge network of tunnels now and I can't tell where it lives..I used to have battles with it and a pair of scissors...but he got smart and won't come out anymore :irked:

Good luck- you will need it!
