Hi guys,

I see there are several vendors in the house and would like to know who carries the most varieties and high quality healthy fish?

Healthy fish in terms of buyer have the confident of adding the new fish into the main tank without quarantine them.

I would appreciate some feedbacks.

Thanks

we are all good vendor on MR . .having all of us here gives you a varity of corals and area to buy from ,

it is always the customers responciblty to qt there fish and corals ,even thou we as vendors do our best to do fresh water dips on zoos ,flat worm exit and tropic marin pro cure.on our corals .but there is always a possiblity that we can miss things ,Fish should always be QT.
Hope that helps out

this is a loaded gun waiting to go off

Umm..really? There are alot of aquarium forums out there that contain a section called "buyer's feedback thread". So buyers can provide their experiences and opinions on their newly acquired product and the vendor they purchased items from.

Well.. it's just my thought.

Admin, plz delete this thread if my question is inappropriate..

I apologize for that.

32bit.. I have bought from both Deep (aka Ronen) and House of Fish.. I have zero complaints, they have great stuff .. and good vendors becasue they help you choose what will be and thrive in your tank and they follow up to see if you have any problems / questions whatever (no knocking any other vendor.. just responding to the experiences of the two I have dealt with)..

I can probably say that most vendors here on MR would do the same... Its a good site.. trustworthy and good lines of communication.. best I have seen from most other sites.

hope that helps.

From my experience with the MR vendors, they are all high quality. Choosing between some of them is like choosing between apples and oranges. Everyone has their own personal preference.

I've found that the personal attention to detail and the willingness to go the extra step is what separates these guys from your local fishstore. They're not just here as vendors, but also as fellow enthuasists.

To echo what Deepwater stated, there's always an inherent risk when purchasing livestock. Even when there is an issue with livestock most of the vendors are pretty responsive and will work with you, unlike the local fish stores which dont guarantee anything once it's out the door.

When it comes to drygoods, some of them can get great items below normal market price.

32Bit... The MR vendors in my experience are all fair and carry high quality livestock. As everyone else here said, QT is your responsibility, although you can ask them if the fish is eating and how long they've had it in.

Once the animal leaves the dealer's hands, you could go home, stick it in a freezer for all they know. (I wouldn't advise this )

A fish may seem healthy when a dealer gets it in and so they sell it. You can't expect a dealer to wait a month to sell the fish, but you can and should expect them to be honest about the fish, when they got it in, and the current health of the fish. If a disease is not yet apparent, the dealer can't guarantee the health, as they have no way of knowing what caused the disease once it leaves their hands.

MR has great vendors, better than any I've seen anywhere else, but it's always buyer beware.

At Manhattanreefs we provide strict guidelines to our vendors ensuring that they always sell quality livestock. We also ensure that our vendors do not sell hard to keep species to people who do not have the ability or the capacity to keep them.

I have bought goods, corals and fish from most of our vendors and so far everything has been top notch.

Like Marrone said, regardless of the quality of our vendors you should always qt your fish before placing them in the tank. There are simply too many people that cry over Ich and other diseases in their tank when this could have easily been prevented by a simple QT. Also Ich quite often does not show on a fish until they are weakened. Some members have poorer water quality than others resulting in a stressed fish resulting in a disease breakout. Then the vendor gets blamed, which just is not right.

As far as ratings go for the vendors and all of our members we have points under our avatar. Its a similar system like ebay where points get added and subtracted and each buyer can leave a comment. Have a look in there. I would say with the number of positive feedback these guys have you should feel quite comfortable. I still owe deepwater and house of fish at least 10~15 feedbacks each. Every single one will be very very positive.

BTW, your question is quite valid and I dont think that it would offend anyone :D
