this stinks chip on new tank

whats up i just bought a new tank.its beautiful.and i guess from getting it in my truck a chip off the bottom.its not all the way through.there is like i would say glass legs.the sides and the front and back glass comes down 3/4 of an inch for i would say stability on the tank and a chip off the corner broke off.do u know if i can get it fixedor is it useless to try.im not worried about filling it up i know it wont leak.im worried about in the future of all the pressure splitting the glass.i hoped i explained myself correctly

if its a clam shell chip, i'd suggest not using the tank. A picture or better description would be better to help us.

If it is just a chip, I dont think the structural integratity of the tank will be compromised. That glass is very thick.

How big is the tank? How thick is the glass? A picture would definately help here.

the tank is 110 gal is around 1/2 in to 5/16 thick ill have a glass guy look at it.i cant give pic my camera is not workin

is it a clam shell chip? where exactly is it located. In all due honesty, it does weaken the tank depending on where its located, also, thats a lot of water, so there will be some pressure lol

the chip is on the bottom and back of tank the bulk head is back there so it has only a little water back there.it is a clam shell but is not chipped where the water is going to be im worried about it cracking upward though.so im wondering if there is some type of fix to take any pressure of this.like some type of apoxy or a glass fill that will strenghen that area

I would see if someone from here with more experiance ,should check that tank ,a glass person will not know how much pressure water holds in 110gal tank ,better safe then srry

I do have a crack on one f my selling tanks ,i was hold somethng and didnt notice that i was next to the side of the tank ,so far so good ,knock on wood lol ..if you have a small chip i wouldnt worry to much about it .If its cracked ,then i would

Listen the outward force of the water might be containable for now but down the road it might give way then you have a bigger problem, Did you buy the tank from a store new if so I would return it and tell them it was broken when you got it.

i dint buy from a store i just filled it up and it seems like its fine.i didnt fill up the overflow boxes i just wanted to see if the pressure breaks it open.i think im going to use the glass apoxy wait for it to dry then silicone it.its on the outside so i think im going to be alright

That's is what I call being dishonest. Why does the store have to absorb the cost of the tank if they aren't guilty?
