Hi Reefers,
I have a question about a sump I want to build...really, it's a question about sumps in general.
Does a sump have to be below the tank entirely? What I mean is: is it OK to have a sump below the water-line, but next to the tank?
I live in NYC, so I don't have room for a stand, but I can make room for a sump-like thing next to the tank to hold the skimmer, fuge, doser and carbon. So, it would be below the water-line, but on the same level as the tank.
I would use two overflow boxes to carry the water over and return it with pump, as if it were a "traditional sump.
Any thoughts?
