Plastic Pipe Cement, can it be used?

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering can I use a Plastic Pipe cement to glue my return tube on my skimmer?

Can you elaborate on the plastic pipe cement?

Its made by Hercules. Its used for PVC Regular Body Medium set. Is it safe to use as suppose to using the weldon acrylic cement?

Are the parts you are gluing PVC? I have used PVC glue on Acrylic with poor results. Does it say anywhere on the label if it's safe for potable water?

It says for PVC types I & II, Portable Water & DWV/SW pipe and fittings

I'm gluing the acrylic tube on the return where it foams for the dare davel skimmer I have.

If it's Acrylic I would use the Weld-On, there is a thread around here somewhere with locations in NY that sell it. The PVC glue might work, but I would'nt trust it strength wise.
