rio air tube

hi all, just got a rio 600 aqua pump, when i powered the pump the water shoot out from the air tube, is it the air tube supose to suck air into the pump to create bubbles? am i doing something wrong?

if it's the type where the tube goes into the hole rather than on top, then you might have to the depth of the tube. you want it to be inside the water stream coming out of the pump output.

i have 2 differant rio's 800 and 2100, the 800 i have the hole blocked and the 2100 is used for my skimmer and i have a air pump running into it. so not sure if it will pull air with just a tube above water

yeh, i used have a 800 and it works very well, then just got this 600, the air tube is connected to the water discharger, and the water is shooting out from the tube,i seems other pump with same connect location, but will sucks in air and create bubble
