Just wondering if anyone has a reccomendation to get rid of micro air bubbles in the tank. They come from my skimmer and before they have a chance to escape they pass through the entire sump and into the tank.

Is your tank a new setup? Microbubbles tend to dissapear after a tank has become more established. ALso...do u have any baffles in ur sump? they tend to be the best way to deal with bubbles. as a last resort u could always put a sponge or a filter sock or something like that to block the bubbles, but those tend to be "nitrate factories" over time and end up being more trouble then good unless ur relentless about keeping them clean. As for me...I have a little refugium set up in the middle of my sump with a bunch of macroalge in it...and the algae itself tends to act as a filter for the bubbles. Just my three cents on the matter...

Its not a new setup, and i just determined its not the skimmer, i have a baffle in there with some carbon and some fuzz in there, but it doesnt seem to help much. I think the majority of the bubbles are coming about when the water trickles into the sump so i just put some fuzz there and it seems like it may help some but def not 100%. THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY, but thanks for the advice:scratchch

not many options...

1. lower the flow in your sump by reducing the overflow rate and reducing your return rate to slow through the sump down which will allow the bubbles to dissipate for the most part before reaching the return pump...

2. put a micron sock on ur skimmer return to cut down on bubbles.

3. add more baffles to your sump..

im all out of ideas...

What Tony said should work..
I lay a filter pad over my output pumps. this seems to trap and dissipate any bubbles before going back into the tank.
