How do u clean ur sump?

Ok so I've had my tank up and running for almost a year now...and I have to admit its going very well. I have, however, been neglecting my sump. I have a 135 gallon with a 48 gallon acrylic sump with baffles underneath.
I clean my pumps and skimmer and such but have never been able to clean the walls and siphon off the bottom of the sump cause I can figure out how to go about doing it.
How can I crete a siphon if the sump is almost at floor level?

What do u guys do?

I used to use a pump with some hose attached to the intake. The output would go to a filter sock. It was basically like vaccuming. If you are dong a water change, then skip the sock.

Now i just take everything out, use a pump to get the water out, then use one of them big sponges to get all the water out with the crap.

But i have one area in my sump that i have a deep sand bed with some live rock and algae growing, so dont want to completley empty out the sump. If i use a pump to suck out all the junk, it wont clog up and burn out the pump?

Well i am mostly referring to detritus. If you have large particles i recommend you remove those first.

i use a phython attached to the sink it works wonderfully (not a drop on the floor !!)

LOL, to be honest a python is just good for emptying out tanks without having to run back and forth with buckets. I mean that's what i use mine for and that's why it's in the closet. Although it does work but it doesn't really have the strength to pick up the heavier stuff.
