I had a couple of heater problems over the past couple of years but although I felt like chucking it, I rebuilt my tank each time and am glad I did. Nothing is forever and I really like setting up and maintaining my tank, so although the money loss sucks, its such a beautiful hobby. Either way, good luck with your choice, you can always come back another time. :bagfish:

Don't get out the game yet.

We have all had some ups and downs in this hobby. Much to learn all the time.

Tuck this experience away and learn from it and keep going. As House said, change whatever needs to be changes to make yourself more successful...

Duke i dont really know you, but seriously weve all had those sh!t moments where we clean up pissed as hell and cursing like hell.... Yeah it might happen to some people more than others but the reality of it is that crap happens. If we quit everytime **** happened we wouldnt be anywhere.

You need to get your tanks deal back to gether. Dont let your pissed off make your decisions. Do you truly want to get out of the hobby?

Life bites, you gotta learn to bite back bro.

If I had the space I would help you out by taking some fish temporarily...I'm sure someone will offer to help you out...

duke, man up dude... take it as it comes... :happysad: We have all been there and said we were gonna throw in the towel but us reefers neva did... Look at me ive had so many problems in the past, almost killed myself i would say close to 5 times with this tank and my other tanks (accidents) electric and saltwater dont mix to well  and im going strong now... if you really love the hobby you will put what happened off to the side and keep going and go even stronger at that... read my 2nd quote in my signature....

 duke, we've all had our losses.
Take some time off if need be, you'll come back all the wiser.

Duke deep breath, I know how you feel (especially with the PO'd wifey). Let the tank run it's course for right now, I would check all of your equipment for bare wires. There could be some stray current in there from a heater or a pump. I would also not add anything to that tank fishwise for the next 2 months if all of your fish die. Let the ich run it's course. If there is not a complete total fish loss I would not add anything to that tank for that time period either. Ups and downs are all over the place for us in this hobby, it is so frustrating and heart breaking but you can make it through this, I know you can dude.

Well said !

Duke .
srry for the losses . We all have these issues in the beginning but we pasted that stage .Cheif said it well ,take it easy. Let the tank run and anger pass by .When youre back and running you take it slow with the adding fish and such .

You aint going anywhere ,Iron workers DONT QUIT !!!!!!!!

You went way too fast. If I were you I would leave the tank running for a few weeks with no live stock. If after three to 4 weeks you dont have the urge to start up again, then take that beautiful tank down. The time off will let you think and give your (new) tank time to really establish itself. Trust me, it aint that hard. You just jumped in to the deep end. You are a beginner, GO SLOW!!!
I know for a fact that you have 0 patientce. Who the hell moves a 300 pound tank by themeslves in the middle of the night with a freakin skateboard???
Hang in man...
