Ammonia= 1.0
Ph= 8.2
Nitire= oppm
Nitrate= oppm

I was trying to stay out of this! Going by your pars, your tank is cycling. You need to get your fish, and inverts out of there. Find a friend that is willing to house them until your tank is ready.

Or just be prepared to see everything die.

Best of luck to you.

but im just trying to get a recoomendation and i will call everyone today

But we can't give you an informed recommendation without a realistic idea of what kind of corals and inverts you are planning to keep. Right now, I have power compacts. I don't keep SPS. I have lower electric bills. This is fine for me.

I have decided that I would like to keep clams, anemones and some select SPS. Therefore, now I am upgrading to MH.

Also, good catch Awilda. I didn't even notice that ammonia reading!

I recommend you find a new hobby... this is obviously too complicated for you. Did anyone tell you to check out VHO lights? NO... they said T5 or MH and yet you then ask about a VHO fixture. You obviously like to hear yourself talk and don't really care what anyone else has to say.

You know what Z, you need to start over, and tell us exactly what you have now. You need to tell us all of your water param's and you need to tell us what livestock you already have, and you need to slow down and listen to advice and read. If you don't you're gonna piss off alot of people here and you're not gonna get any help but bad help.

my suggestion is plan wayyyyyy ahead of time.
im the queen of planning
i joined in january and i still havent decided on what kind of tank to get. so take it sloooow. the great part about it is that you get this psychic ability where you are able to know about stuff before it even happens.
i suggest seeing a hypnotherapist to treat your impulsive addiction to buying fish.

p.s. i collect stamps! what are you saying? that theyre not cool? jk but i do collect alot of stuff
ill name it all

dolphins
pirate stuff
american coins
foreign coins
ancient coins
sharks teeth
dragons
mr. potato heads
eyeore stuff
bottles
disney pins
tamagotchi's
carved wooden animals
electrical light sparky globe things

so my advice is to choose one or two of the above and stay out of potentially harming helpless creatures

good luck with the ich!
regards
-the girl who doesnt have a tank yet

.

I say something is wrong with you and you need to find yourself a new hobby. Collecting stamps or even get a dog to keep you busy. I have spoken to you on the phone you claim that you have a teacher that has a reef tank and she/he is teaching you about this i think your teacher should find another hobby too cause he/she are obviously not teaching you anything right. I told you my personal preference is t5's but you seem to go along with VHO. Man its like its going in one ear and coming out the next. This is my last thread about this topic i am tired of this already and i feel that a lot of people feel the same way. this is my last thread regarding this topic.

.:dead: end of story.

Ok chiedmcfuz I have a 65 gallon 36x18x24 tank with a strip light which have 2 bulbs in it. a normal white strip and a marine glow strip(30w). I have a 400 emeror filter. A sea clone 100 protien skimmer. I have a visi-Therm stealth premium heater. About 40 lbs of fiji live rock. 40 lbs of dry sand. 20lbs of live reef sand. Rio 1400 circulation pump. 3 damsel fish, 3 fire fish, tomatoe clown, 9 snails, 2 hermits, long tenticle purple anenome, chocalate chip star fish, feather duster which is growing its crown back, 2 pepermint shrimp. Thats about it.

Well, in all fairness, I know a lot of people who haven't used live sand. You only really need a cup to seed the sand bed. When I switch tanks, I'm starting with all new ESV sand and one cup of my old sand bed. LR will seed it quickly enough if you have enough in your system.

No, I am not his teacher!!! Marki you can't say that about his teacher. If he hasn't listened to anyone here, what makes you think that he is listening to the teacher?
Chief, he already told us his pars which are Ammo 1.0, nitrite 0, nitrates 0. I told him his tank is cycling, and needs to find all those animals a temporary home ASAP.

Zuska, why are you here? You are not taking any of the advice given to you. I am begining to suspect two scenerios - 1) you are a special needs person(which trust me not a problem, and nothing to be embarrased about) we would still help you. And I'll tell you again FIND A FRIEND THAT CAN HOUSE YOUR CREATURES UNTIL YOUR TANK CYCLES - PLEASE!!!:hug:
2) You are here simply to bust chops. In which case please go away, and find your self another hobby that does not have anything to do with living creatures. :banghead:

Awibrandy i never said you are his teacher. He told me over the phone that his teacher from school is teaching him all this information unless you are his teacher in reality.

Awilda those are basic water parameters I was looking for everything SG, Temp Alk, Calcium, etc.

In order for that tank to be any kind of reef tank it needs the following, finish cycling, Lighting upgrade, Sump/fuge instead of that emporer 400 filter, a real skimmer, if you have only a hang on skimmer the remora is a good hang on skimmer.

Has that tank ever had copper medication in it? If so that's gonna prohibit it from becomming a reef tank and it will also prohibit any of it's contents from being used in a reef tank for fear that it may leach the copper back out into the water column and kill your corals.

I would keep that 65 as a fish only tank and try to set up a nano reef from scratch.

What you need to do is either listen or find a new hobby.

I dont case if you people are tellin me to. I am takin all the edvise you give me but some of you guys tell me one thing and then the other. I am purchasing the RODI right now actually. http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUARIUM-2-110G...hZ002QQcategoryZ20756QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

I have been looking at some new protien skimmers also some one recommened me the ASM G3 skimmer i dunno. Now the sump is a different story people told me to hang on with the sump just get everything straight and then when im gone with ick and have everything settled then i can start purchasing a sump.
