mushroom placement and lighting

i just ought a rock with a couple mushrooms on it. i know mushrooms are low light and low current corals, my question is that i have a 55 gl with 300 wats of pc on it. i placed the rock more twoards the top of the tank cuz thats where the rock fit best, is that a problem, can they get too much light?? or are they fine with that much light that high in the tank??

They may not open up as well as in a less light condition, but how well a rock fit in a particular should not determind the placement.

If you must put it all the way at the top, maybe chisel the mushroom off :?

I think I would try it and see how they do. Under pc lights, I think you could have them pretty high and still do fine.

I think they'll probably be fine too. IMO they're pretty adaptable to different light levels...
