Is Saltwater Master a good brand for liquid test kits? Is there a real difference when it comes to them?
The brand of my choice would be either Salifert or LaMotte. The difference being purity of regent used. You should have no problem getting either of the 2 brands in the states via mail order.
I used to use Salifert a lot because it's cheaper in price and the result is pretty accurate. Kind of finding a balance between the cost and preciseness of the accuracy. However since relocation to where I am at now, I no longer have the luxury of getting these great test kits anymore.

"The term bit or bits comes from combining the words BInary and digIT. In computing, a bit is a unit of information expressed as a choice between two possibilities: a 0 or 1 in binary notation. This has to do with how many bits the CPU (or a video processor) can handle at a time. That can translate into faster CPUs, the ability to do more things at once, and the detail (or number of colors) on the screen.
16bit is an OLD video game processing capability, like the Nintendo 64 is 64bit, and 16bit also happens to be my favorite. It is the one you most often see game boys running on. Mick is my most common nickname.

The reason I ask is because I come across stuff that people are willing to sell me for cheap because they are quitting or because they have multiple and I wanna know if it is good or not. I know 3 people locally that reef and they have lots of extra stuff. Even if it is at drastically reduced prices I still don't wanna waste money if it is crap tho!
Well the one that is quitting is JUST NOW quitting. She doesn't have the heart to just abandon her fish so she is trying to find them good homes and it is taking her a while. This is the girl that is giving up the reef business because she is running a kennel/ranch that she uses to rescue animals and has NO time to take the proper care of them. She has 16 dogs right now. . . :roll: Man.
Yah...16 is a bit much...but then we have 3 dogs, 2 cats, a cockatoo, a hedgehog, 25gal SW, 15gal SW, 2 10gal SW (in setup phase)
2.5 gal Betta, 1gal Betta, 2.5gal nano (in setup phase), 1gal nano (in setup phase)
The 'setup phase' is mainly convincing my girlfriend that we need to have more tanks with life in em around the house. Looking at smaller species specific, ie mantis shrimp in the 10's etc.
*sigh* and I'm saving up for a BEEEEG tank....like a 250 or 300..
anyway....back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
