I am in the process of setting up a 37 gallon reef tank. The light I am looking at is the Aqualight Pro HQI 150MH/2x55pc. I have been told that this would be a good light if I want to add just about anything. If I want mainly SPS then they suggested the 250MH/2x55pc. What do you guys think? Can you have too much light. Will it be too strong with the 250 MH for lower light like mushrooms. I would like to have some SPS and a clam but was told to just put them up higher near the 150 MH. Thanks for your help.

I'd advise 250w ,, I have a 175w halide over my 29g and wish I'd gone with a 250w. The 37g is quite a deep tank as well (assuming it's the standard AGA 37g),,, even a 400 watter wouldn't be overkill if you're planning an SPS/Clam tank and can handle the heat.

thanks for the reply. I really would like the 250 just not sure if I want to spend that much. May just wait a few extra months until I can save for it. Thanks again.
