After looking around here and at some other sites I ended up getting a 50 gal Kent Marine unit. The salesman actually told me that all of the brands are bascially the same. Not sure if that's true, but that is his opinion.
I got the quick release adaptor and hook it up to my kitchen faucet when I need it and then unhook it and store it, like Tina does in her bathroom. My TDS meter reading of the water in is mid-200s something but the water out is actually 0.
I had planned on using it for drinking water. It has a very clean taste. But in the paperwork that came with the unit, it says not to drink the water, as the minerals have been stripped out.
As it also says in the paperwork, I've found a big difference in output ratio (waste:product) when I keep the water pressure constant at 60psi. I'm getting better than 3:1. A nice surprise, as I hate to waste water and my garden is very small and only needs so much.
