I decided to bend pvc. so i got a blow torch and heated the pipe till it was soft. then bent it. then cooled it. is this ok or did it serverly weaken it

also i burt parts of it. it turned brown like. safe or no?

i knoticed if you heat the pipe back up it bend back to the original straight line it was in fast. does this mean it will slowly return to straight when it is cool. ( dunt wanna come home one day to abunch of straight pipe)

so is it ok or am i a retard who needs to run back to Homedepot and buy new pipe

Heating and bending PVC has two draw back. It can creates thin spots in the plastic and where it turned brown changing the plastic properties which may cause cracks and leaks in the future. I would not use it anywhere there is a vibration. IMO I would not ue this anywhere that could cause flooding.

Try again

This time don't use a blow torch, its too much localized heat

You can use a pot of boiling water for smaller pipe, if you have to put a bend in a longer piece you can hold it above a gas burner on your stove, just be sure to keep it higher and rotate it.

I bend pvc all the time, I usually use a kerosene blow heater we have at work, its enough heat to get it to the bending point, but not enough to melt it.

I agree. It is not worth the risk unless it is for a special shape that you need inside the tank, such as spray bar. For out of tank plumbing, use PVC elbows.

PVC is very nasty when it burnt. It is toxic in high concentration. I bet your sperm count will be at least 25% less than a few weeks ago ;)
