yea go to the grocery store parking lot. even a lot of guys from the LFS say that the water out of those machines is actually really good and pure.

sorry guys but i would not use the water at a grocery store. you are relying on a person to come in and change that filter. you dont know when the last time he was there so you dont know if you are at the begining or the end of the life of the filter. TRUST me it is CITY water through a filter. also who is to say the person even came to changed the filter, they could have skipped that store for that period for a booty call or something.
the pet store is your cheapest and safest way :D 8)

my advice is to check your cities water table and see just how "bad" tap water is in your area... i know ill be flamed for this but some places tap water is ok, some places only add chlorine and have 0 heavy metals, its wise to check your water table to see exactly whats in the water... here the water is nearly perfect.... never had any trouble in 7 years

Walmart has water that is filtered from the manufacturer with reverse osmosis, deionization, UV sterilization, and ozonation.

It is labeled with a green label. Just read the label and it will list all of the above. It is the cleanest water, but expensive @ .60 a gallon (here anyways.)

Just save money for a RO/DI unit, it will cost less in the long run (actually will pay for itself faster than you would think.)

I recently setup a new tank and have just started to cycle it. During the process I fuound some very reasonably priced RO/DI units on Ebay. Check that out before the other options. I firmly beleive that clean water going into the tank is the best filter you can provide, excluding what God already provided in the form of bacteria. I was amazed at what could be found on Ebay.

5 cents a gallon?!?!?

That's crazy! 8O

That was over a year ago, so with inflation, well, you know it is probably $5.00 now.LOL

I'm paying 39 cents for my water at the glacier centers and I'm pretty happy with it so far although a RO/DI unit is in the plans.

5 cents would be great, though!!! :D
