NEWB question in here!

Hi,
I am new to marine fishkeeping but have a few years experience at freshwater and I have a couple of total newb questions.
1. I have read that some salt mixes are made up for tapwater and some for RO water. I have an RODI filter and cant find any info on any of the main brand salts like TMC or IO on which is set up for which type of water.

2. How much noise does red sea prizm protein skimmer make? The only reason Im asking is it depends on if i need to have a sump and which room im putting it in.

1 - Since you have Ro/DI it doesn't matter for you (good call!!). The chemicals added to remove Cloramine or Chlorine from tap water are harmless.

2 - Can't help you, I've never owned a prizm.

I heard that the prizm is a little noisey because the pump is out side the water.
