I may be in trouble due to the simplest of questions

Just started the tank 5 hours ago (first tank ever). 12g JBJ dx with 11lb. of live rock. Anyway, I have read that most people keep thier tanks specific gravity around 1.022 but my reading is 1.028. I bought it today at the local shop pre-mixed (didn't check it before I put all the sand and rock in..wish I did now). I figured that was one less learning curve for me.

Will this change as the tank ages hourly..daily or what? Will it hurt anything if not..when do I take action if needed?

I am gonna attempt to show a pic of some goodies that came with my rock..let me know if its not showing..Like I say, I'm new to reefing and new to the forum..

A Specific Gravity reading of 1.028 is fine for typical reef temperatures. As water evaporates from the tank it needs to be replaced with pure fresh water.

Also, make sure you're getting an accurate SG reading. If you know someone (like maybe your LFS) that has a calibrated refractometer you can compare readings. Another option would be to make a calibration solution out of table salt.
