Hello All,

I'm looking to set up a tank to cure and hold live rock. I do not want to add any fish or inverts in the tank.

75 gallon tank
Eheim cannister filter
300 watt heater
48" dual light strip

Will this setup provide the filtration and lighting necessary to just cure and hold the rock? Should I add more lighting?

Thanks in advance,
-R

If you are just looking to cure the rock the lights are not necessary. Having it in the dark would keep algae from growing. I would ditch the canister filter. Instead add a skimmer and a couple of powerheads.

ditto on wazzel's post. to speed up curing and you could run the tank a little warm... 80-82deg...

you gotta have skimming. that is like..... pizza with no beer or a TV without TIVO! :D
