just a quick question?

I'm looking at MH lighting at the moment the tank im getting is a 40 gallon 36"L x 15"W x 16"H < would a 250watt MH with 2 VHO or PC be overkill?Or should i get 150watt, seems most ppl say anything over 20" go 250watt.... i want to be able to keep Anemone's, SPS's and clams.I dont want to cook my tank so the lighting will be pendents or a fixture i can suspend over the tank.

So what do ya think?

If you want Clams I'd suggest a 10,000K 250 watt DE HQI + a couple of VHO Actinics for color.

check out www.hellolights.com for a nice retrofit system. They are GENERALLY VERY competitive and their customer service and support is first class.

And no, it woulnd't be an over kill. I'm in the process of putting a 250w DE MH + 2x96PC over a 40g myself.

Great setup IMO.
