I noticed in the last week or so that my KH has slowly been rising. My tank is approx 2 yrs old, and KH (pH) has usually been anywhere from 7.8-8.2. In the past week, I noticed that it has slowly climbed. This evening it is at 8.8 !

Does anyone know typical issues that cause this?

My tank info:

90 gallon reef
approx 100 lbs LR
approx 6-7 fish
30 gallon sump with fuge
euroreef skimmer

Are you dosing anything?

How old is the probe on your PH meter?

Hey Guy,

Thanks....forgot to add a few other info....

I only use RO/DI water - tested and ok.
Water changes are done automatically via spectrapure litermeter.
Doses: 2 part B-Ionic everyday (which I have cut down on since the kH spike), Strontium and Iodine as directed.

Since the spike, I stopped the litermeter from doing water changes, and the levels have gone down to a normal level. perhaps it was from too frequent water changes??? The pH probe is fairly new - about 6 months old. And I just performed the cleaning of the probe, as directed, and the levels did not change.
