no no plumber here my friend......... I did have some help tho. Yea I am hoping that in a year from now I will have quite a setup. Problem is I already want a bigger tank....... Not even going with this one yet LOL Thanx for the kudos from all. I will definately be around lots and pulling from you more experienced reefers.

I know only a little, But I guess that the learning is part of the fun to this hobby.

I am beginning to think I may have overdone it with flow rates. The closed loop is being fed by an Ampmaster 3000 and the sump return is pushed by another ampmaster 2100. So which means while I fiddle with the flows I may have to cut back some with the gate valves. Other wise my corals might look like they are having a bad hair day.... :roll:

Issue there is I fear that inhibiting the pumps flow rates may burn them up pre-maturly. Does anyone have any feedback on this???

As long as the gate valve is on the outlet of the pump and not the inlet you should be fine.

Its just like adding some extra head to the system.
