Is this legit?

I am looking to purchase a 36" power compact fixture for my 30 gal. I saw a Jebo Odyssea fixture on ebay and it seems too cheap to be legit...

Anybody heard of this?

I don't know anything about that specifically, but I have heard that jebo is a chinese company and they dont have the best reputation. This is pretty much the case of you get what you pay for. It's up to you as to whether saving some money is worth potential problems. HTH

Also it depends on what's in your tank, that fixture is kind of limited in terms of light output. What are you keeping or planning on in terms of corals?

I figured that was probably the case. I am keeping mostly soft corals (leathers, mushrooms, zoos, etc.) in this tank.

The lights on that Ebay fixture would be barely adequate even for softies and I'd have to think about getting something with more potential...in this hobby it's better to buy "bigger" in the begining than to replace it later. Kinda like paying for the same ground twice :lol:

FWIW, I've had great service and decent prices from Hello lights (link on RDO sponser page).

I have the same light fixture and beleve it or not my softies and leathers are doing great and growing quickly. For the money and being on a budget its been a good fixture. Now that being said my LFS has had some problems w/ some broken fixtures coming in. The dist. gives them credit for such items and tells them to toss them and they replace them at no cost. The same company sells a MH fixture that my LFS said to stay away from they are having too much trouble with them.

I don't know, I'm not familiar with the manufacturer...why not start a new thread with "Catalina Aquarium Lights" in the title and see if someone else has one?
