Green star polyp turning white help

I just purchased a green star polyp from my LFS yesterday and it has not opened yet and is starting to show white fuzz?
is it dyeing, should I take it out of my tank [/img]

I myself, dont have a salt water yet. But have had a freshie for 15 years. I would a definately take it out!

I would check all water parameters first and make sure nothing is out of whack. If test results are good and everything else in the tank looks good I would wait it out for a while. It may just be having some trouble acclimating to your tank. GSPs are pretty hardy so they very well may come around...

Heh, OK, if the tissue is looking necrotic then it may be time to get it out of there...

I did take it out and it was smelling BAD!!

Sorry to hear that.

How did you acclimate it? Is this a new tank, or an established tank? Do you have other corals in the tank that are OK? Have you checked basic water parameters?

I guess I'm a bit surprised because GSP are generally very hardy...
