I have a nice size rock with about 35 yellow polyps on it that I would like to start on a new rock. The problem is I can not get these buggers to move off their old rock. I have tried to put small pieces on the rock but the polyps just push them off. I have the rock right next to a larger one but they won't budge. Any suggestions?

The polyps won't move, as such, though they might spread. If so, it'll happen slowly, and your conditions should be just right to promote their growth.

What do you fed polyps? I am using DT's Phytoplankton I dose the water with iodine, strontium, molybdenum, and calcium.

I bring my water into my lfs about once a week and have them test it. they say it is fine. I am following the guys advice about adding the minerals. The polyps look fine. They are growing and their tentacles are nice and big and swaying in the current. Once again, what do you feed them?

Some advice - Dont dose anything you dont test for. I doubt the LFS is testing for the iodine, strontium, molybdenum, and calcium. They are probably testing Amonia/nitrate/salinity at most.

Get some test kits of your own to see if you need to add those elements. Wayter changes will usually be enough to replnish them.

Remember - LFS's are out to make money.

I have a very small in tank artemia hatchery and it supplies the tank with artemia, very tiny ones, as soon as I added the hatchery the growth and reproduction of my polyps increased, and my corals also grow faster. I am very careful not to try to hatch too much though....I added the hatchery primarily to fatten up my Mandarin which has also responded.

I just learned from Guy here on this board that Yellow Polyps must be fed as they are related more to anenomies.

I am feeding mine flounder, minced up in little tiny bits.

Its only been 2 days though, so I will be able to give better results of this after a couple of weeks.

They shouldn't move though, but they will spread

If the rock will not stay put try some underwater epoxt to secure it. You could also wedge it in place or use a larger rock.
