Ocean runner/ aquamedic pump

Does anyone know if I can hook up a ocean runnner 3700 with needle wheel in a vertical position. I would like to use this pump in a vertical position and externally.

Can't give you much help on this one, other than a bump. However, I'd try calling or emailing the company, they should be able to help with that. (Or just do what I do, try it, and if it works, your a certified genious {you always knew it would work}, if it doesn't work, its because it was made wrong).

Aqua-Medic does not mount this pump vertically on their own skimmers (see the T5000 series for example), so you might try Taz's suggestion and email them to see if there's a reason...

OTOH, I have seen pics of DIY skimmers with the pump mounted vertically and these folks don't seem to be having problems. Not sure what, if any, effects it has on performance though...

i have seen them mounted vert. I don't think it is an issue.
