Good or Bad idea?

This may seem like it is out there but what the heck..... We have installed our new coral-life light system and have done the following: The blue lights are set to come on at noon..... then the white lights come on at 12:30........ In the evening, they reverse..... white off then blue at a 30 minute time lapse..... The idea was that we are simulating sunrise and then sunset...... So for those of you in the know, what do you think????

If you feel that is strange, I think that would make 99.97% of us real wacko jumpos.

There is nothing unusual about it, and I don't see anything bad that could happen due to this.

I agree. Many (probably most) people who run actinics do the dawn/dusk thing, so nothing unusual about it at all.

New to reefs (don't even have ours yet) but back when we were big into reptiles I know they had an electronic gizmo to do just this except that rather than turn lights on/off, it actually faded in and out sort of like a rheostat.

So nothing weird or new, but for the real effect that gadget will set you back like $300. :twisted:

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I'll pass on that gaget. At $300.00, well that would cause me to be on the couch for many a night!
